Grandma's dishes.........

I love my grandma's dishes. It's not a complete set but they are still so pretty. A few have been broken over the years during moves, so I came up with a great idea. I am going to try and make jewelry with them. Charms. Maybe you have seen them online? Etsy.com has alot of things like this. Jewelry make from broken china and such. Some of them are lovely. I would like to make some heart shaped pieces and then share them with my sisters and mom. Have any of you done this? I would love comments are "how too" and what worked for you. Thanks !

~ I love lampshades ~

I have a bit of love for lampshades too. I have enjoyed recovering a few too. I redid this one from a maternity shirt that was from Target. lol. Nice and stretchy material. The lace trim was from an old old pillow case that had seen much better days. But the trim was still pretty. Its a small shade but looks adorable when all lit up in the evening. Annabelle had claimed it so it will light up her room for now.

This IS my sweet cottage. My cute little rock cottage that my sister painted. Even the roses grew up over the doorway. Annabelle thinks that garden fairies live in it. lol. Being six must be wonderful.

My small, but humble home.
Ok ok its only MY house in my rich fantasy life. But can you blame a girl?! Look at this little dreamy thing. It's perfect. I wish I was the friend of the gal who owns it.........I could peek inside! I am sure that the lucky lady who lives there has a twenty inch waist, cooks like Martha Stewart AND Rachel Ray, has a weedless garden , gets ALL the great deals at the fleamarket before you get there, entertains EVERY evening and a hubby that looks like Huge Jackman from the film Australia. Now that I really think about it....I dont think I like her at all.

FABRIC LOVE !

t

Oh how I love my vintage looking robe. I was so excited when I first saw it on the rack at the thrift store. I rushed across to it and quickly grabbed it off the hanger.I didn't even try it on. I saw the fabric, the pretty blue trim, and the $1.99 price tag and it was LOVE ! LOVE I SAY!! When I held it up I figured it wouldn't fit but didn't care because I had the wonderful intentions of making something spectacular with it. Covering a unique shaped lampshade I had, or make a few pillows.(whenever I actually learn to make pillows ) I put it the buggy quickly quickly as if someone else would see the great price and its beauty and try to get it.....not from this girl.... lol. By the style of it, I thought it was vintage at first but it didn't have a brand label in it. The last owner cut it out. ( If you happen to know the maker, please let me know ! ) But the cleaning label looks very new. Oh who cares I loved it. I took it straight to the counter to pay and didn't pay attention to the young cashiers rude remark "oh I think this is WAAAAY too small for you ! " My new robe love kept me from reaching over and smacking those curls right off her little head. Yes ..love is blind. I have had my robe now for several years, and I have never been able to bring myself to cut it up. I guess I still care too much.....oh and guess what else....it fits !

HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY ANDREW !!

My handsome little man is 16 today ! Oh my heart aches..with sadness and pride. I miss my baby boy playing with his butt ball (football for a one year old) never leaving home with out his action figures ,and flushing my nice jewelry down the toilet. I miss it all. But now look at my wonderful handsome man...with the kindest nature and the biggest heart. He is my movie buddy....but most of all....He is my heart! I have to say it one more time.......Happy Birthday poohbear!

I bought this table at a flea market for only ten dollars ! Now it was an ugly green ( in van ) and needed cleaning but that was no problem at all. I painted it white and I sold it on craigslist in less than an hour. Yeah! She bought it to use as a desk....how great is that. I bet her office looks so great. I need a twelve bedroom house so I can keep all the cheap and sweet things I find. Sad..puckered lip. I will miss this one.

I am LOVING blue right now..........

Ok I am loving everything right now! As long as is blending with my style, my version of shabby Chic. Or is it Cottage Chic or French chic now? Oh who knows really I just love it all. I found this frame a while back for only two dollars at a sale. It is pretty big. I actually got it to go with the tall, skinny dresser, with nice deep drawers. that I bought ,for only fifteen dollars at a local thrift store. I painted it the same shade of blue and put little crystal knobs on it. So cute ! It sets me in motion with all kinds of projects too. Now I have three tables to paint and five other frames! Oh and some baskets. Now if I could only learn to make those wonderful little liners for them, all covered in roses. In time.
I love painting stuff and seeing that finished product. It can be SO rewarding when it turns out just right. When it doesn't...sell it. lol. Or trade if off. I have mentioned my obsession of linens to. Well I found these cuties at the local flea market. It has been so long since I have been...I am having withdraws. Oh the pretty things I have missed! The little white dresser was a fifteen dollar purchase, and brown at the time. Cant have that! Must be painted. I bet I say that in my sleep.......

more boxes of goodies !!!
Posted by Picasa

I have been doing some much needed "spring cleaning". Yeah I know I am a bit late for that, but better late than never I say! I t can be really great too, especially when you have as much stuff as I do laying around. I was diging through some boxes and found all these goodies. Can you believe I had them put away!? Some many pretties to be made with all those sparkled jewels. Annabelle let out a huge gasp and started claiming all the rings. They are all gone now. lol. Oh well I have enough left to make some great earrings. Another project ! Yeah and I didnt have any of those either..?! Hmmm. I also found in the same box a beautiful spode plate with a lion on it. So cute. A chip on the side but those things dont bother me. If I love it..well I just love it. Flaws and everything. I cant wait to get it hung on the wall.
I swapped out my sister loads of stuff for a coupl of paintings so I have been making room for those things too. I dont know why I let my house get so cluttered? It is such a spectacular feeling when it is clean ! I feel like actually asking people to come over! lol. I bet if I cleaned out the garage.... it would be like Christmas ....all the things I forgot I had! Hmm maybe next week....
